The Electrical Engineering Department and Mechanical Department of Central Institute of Technology (CIT) are allied branches and conducts academic activities for both Diploma and Degree students. The department has one laboratory to conduct practical classes for various courses on circuits and networks theory and one mechanical workshop. In any Engineering, some subjects are there which are very essential and compulsory for all engineering branches like Engineering Mechanics, Workshop Practice, Basic Thermodynamics, Basic fluid Mechanics etc. are run by Mechanical Engineering. Under this department there is a well-equipped Workshop which is composed of mainly several shops as-Carpentry Shop, Fitting Shop, Welding Shop and Machine shop. The Machine Shop is consists of several heavy and light machines like Lathe , shaper , slotter, drilling machine, hydraulic hacksaw, grinding machine etc. Along with the mechanical workshop the mechanical department has engineering mechanics lab to conduct practical class for both diploma and degree students. The department has taken steps to develop labs both existing and new ones.
