About Women Cell & Grievance Cell (WC & GC)
The Women Cell and Grievance Cell is a key institutional body of CIT Kokrajhar, serving the specific functions. The Women Cell at CIT Kokrajhar was first established in November 2015, in accordance with directives from the Supreme Court of India, with the mandate of safeguarding and advancing the interests of the women within the CIT community. A new executive body for the Women Cell was formed on August 30, 2024, with a three-year term. Additionally, a Grievance Cell was created at the same time to broaden the original mission of the Women Cell. Women Cell:

This is a committee aimed at promoting gender equality and addressing issues related to the safety, dignity, and well-being of women in the workplace or educational setting.

  • 1. It works to prevent discrimination and any form of abuse or misconduct against the women employees.
  • 2. The cell organizes awareness programs, workshops, seminars and other activities to ensure a respectful and inclusive environment for women.
  • 3. The Women Cell at CIT Kokrajhar has expanded its efforts to address various challenges faced by impoverished families and marginalized women and children in the surrounding areas, including nearby villages and communities with underprivileged populations. Its goal is to carry out community service programs periodically, as well as on special occasions like Women's Day.
Grievance Cell:

This is a committee aimed at promoting gender equality and addressing issues related to the safety, dignity, and well-being of women in the workplace or educational setting.

  • 1.This body handles complaints and concerns from female employees related to general issues such as unfair treatment, harassment, dissatisfaction with policies, or conflicts.
  • 2. It provides a platform for women staff to voice their grievances, ensuring that their issues are heard and resolved in a fair and timely manner.
  • 3. It deals with a wide range of matters, including workplace disputes, academic concerns, or any other form of injustice.

The Women Cell at CIT Kokrajhar has expanded its efforts to address various challenges faced by impoverished families and marginalized women and children in the surrounding areas, including nearby villages and communities with underprivileged populations. Its goal is to carry out community service programs periodically, as well as on special occasions like Women's Day.

The Women Cell, CIT Kokrajhar was constituted in the month of November, 2015 in compliance with the directives of Supreme Court of India and with the mandate of protecting and promoting the interests of women of CIT fraternity. The new executive body of the Women Cell was made on 30th August, 2024 with a tenure of three years. The Grievance Cell has also been constituted at the same time to further widen the original objective of the women cell.

One of the primary objectives of the Women Cell and Grievance Cell is to maintain a congenial working atmosphere for the female working faculties and staff and a healthy and safe academic atmosphere for the girl students. Since its inception, it has been a constant endeavour of the cell to uphold the dignity of the women employees of the institute.
